Hot Summer Soccer Run

Ah, a good old hot summer run at Memorial Park. “Man is it hot out here. Must be 90-something – feels like a 100…? At least,” says me to a blackbird and an imaginary dog that no one is walking.

The heat must be getting to me. And here comes a guy kicking a soccer ball around the track, effortlessly with so much energy it has to be a mirage.

Hmm, that was me earlier today at Memorial Park on the running trail. So I took a picture to prove his existence as well as my consciousness.

Motivation

People at the park keep me going. As long as I make it there and take that first step, everything will be fine. I know how great I’ll feel as soon as I get in stride during a long walk or quick run and the company of other park-goers acts like a big energy boost.

Water! Hydrate!

Not surprisingly, they are vulnerable to erectile dysfunction and that can be also treated by these herbal capsules as mastercard viagra deeprootsmag.org a result of which vigor and vitality in men. Just by a click, this medicine can be ordered from a number of different pharmnacy websites, one of levitra 40 mg http://deeprootsmag.org/2015/03/03/stop-theresas/ the best being uniqkey%.php. But please take care to drink sufficient fluids and save something for a wet treat when you finish.

To put the need for hydration in perspective, let’s get in my time machine and go back to my peak running days. I ran almost daily in 90+ degree heat and loved doing it. I was fast and had a long stride and really enjoyed cranking up the endorphins – magical. You runners know what I mean. Summer heat didn’t matter much I thought, but I would wait for the temp to dip down to 93 degrees before starting a hard run.

Protect yourself – Body fluid loss is real

Long story, short, during those long, hard, hot summer soccer runs, I lost up to 4 pounds of body weight, meaning I lost 4 pounds of fluids. Don’t ignore your body-talk. If you hear a little body-voice or feel a bit strange, you should be lapping up water at a fountain – not looking for one.

That’s why I love Memorial. It has a great scenic 3-mile trail around a golf course with people, birds, animals and landscaping. Spurs go off in all directions and there’s usually plenty of parking and just the right amount of motivators.

  • A minute is an hour,
    A hour is a day,
    A day is a week,
    A week is a month,
    A month is a year,
    What a rag,
    Time drags,
These are the dog days of Summer.

    The dogs don’t bark,
    The cats don’t meow,
    The birds don’t sing,
The butterflies don’t spread their wings,
These are the dog days of Summer.

    The weather is no surprise,
The heat is in the rise,
These are the dog days of Summer.

Now the 100 degrees makes its mark,
    The dogs begin to bark,
    The cats start to meow,
    The birds commence to sing,
    The butterfly spreads its wings,
    Alas I ask when,
these dog days are going to end?

    The Climate God has Spoken.
